Best Yet - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By richieb - September 10 - 2:00 amJust got back from Florida... Round trip mileage 27.5 mpg Comfortable in all aspects. Not a single problem.. For those who say it is underpowered I had it at 120 mph level ground without a downshift.. Extreme hill climb 90 mph before downshift.. How much power do you want... Consider it uses unleaded regular and not premium like the competition and youre ahead of the game.. Love this car to no end!!!

Lazy Perfect - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Hondo - July 15 - 8:16 amThis car performs well, handles nicely, and brakes adequately. However, its more comfortable than any car I have ever been in. I own a few other specialty vehicles, but this is my daily driver, and it is exactly perfect at getting me to work and home. I find myself not being stressed out in traffic.

Great vehicle with untapped potential - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Unclecheeb - July 12 - 10:00 amThe new body is very nice, however it resembles the Camry too much. Fit and finish are suburb. Night time instrument panel is magnificent. The car is full of little conveniences like the drivers dead pedal, tilt out coin holder, compass in the rearview mirror, auto dimming mirrors, overhead grips for driver and passenger, and wippers that can be pulled out of the way for complete windshield cleaning.

ES 300 analysis - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Tony Bass - June 5 - 10:00 amour 2003 Lexus ES 300 is one of the worst riding cars we have ever owned. Its suspension system doesnt even small bumps making it very uncomfortable to drive/ride on all roads other than highways.

Should be better - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Ole John - May 11 - 10:00 amThe "fly-by-wire" engine control is unstable causing shutters at about 45, and topping hills or at bottom coming up sometimes causes jerks. The red pointer on the instrument panel is hard to read in bright conditions. My car has warped rotors at 8000 miles.

New Owner - hard to evaluate reliability - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By NewES300Owner - April 30 - 2:00 amI really like the car, but one option that should be added - stereo controls on the steering wheel. Have only driven about 100 miles so im sure theres more to check out.

Low cost luxury - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Wayne - March 16 - 5:06 pmI purchased the car at 6 years old with 69000 miles so someone else took the depreciation hit. Very nice car for the price. Smooth and quiet ride, and lots of amenities. Its not a sports car, but was not designed as one. It has a lot of the features of the Lexus LS without the price tag. Very dependable car. Catalytic converters needed replacement but were covered under warranty. Lexus dealership was outstanding on the repair. One window switch issue, automatic function does not work right after the window needed replacement, but not sure if it is a switch problem or an installation problem. After 4 GM cars and one Dodge, wifes 2003 Avalon and this ES 300, I am sold on Toyota.

Well, its a Lexus ! ! ! - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By fyler - March 9 - 10:33 pmWhen a car is rated as the top selling Lexus for the past 15 years there gotta be some serious reasons for that. After owning SC300 I needed a 4 doors so best reviews went to the ES300 and its bigger sister ES330.GS had mixed reviews, I hate the IS, I cant afford an LS and I dont like an RX SUVs.Dont listen to those who say that the ES300 is a glorified Camry, they probably never drove a Lexus. You will see the build quality in every single piece of interior, the sound the hood, trunk and door latch locks. And NO, these interior wood are not fake, Lexus doesnt use fake woods in its interiors. I have some suggested improvements below (not a deal breaker though, guess I just got spoiled).

Best car experience. vanilla ice cream - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Robert in Miami - January 18 - 10:50 amBought the ES300 with 6 years and 36,000 miles on it. It was essentially as good as new, as it had been maintained by a Lexus dealership and driven less than 6,000 miles a year. Ive driven it 12,000 miles in the first year and it has been just like the first year of a new car. No troubles at all. Flawless. A superbly built and engineered car, it does everything well and smoothly. I have noticed slight "hiccups" in the transmission but is hard to tell the conditions that create it. It happens about every 100 miles or so. Power is more than adequate but its not a muscle car by any stretch. The local Lexus dealer service dept. advised me I will need to replace the engine mounts at 60,000K.

The BEST Car Ownership Experience - 2003 Lexus ES 300
By Tech Exec - November 9 - 2:00 amI bought another ES 300 after testing many competitive models priced less than $40,000. My first Lexus was flawless and was best in class when I bought it in 1997. The 2003 model delivers performance and quality that define luxury for me. I dreamed of owning a Mercedes; when I could finally afford one, Lexus was the better car. Life is too short to settle for second or third best. Lexus of New Orleans treated me very well, I recommend them without hesitation(honest and fair).
